Welcome to all who enter here!

If you have found this site, it is fair to say that you are here because of the special nature of my primary topic.   It is my sincere hope that it will help those seeking information on a gender journey, either their own or that of a loved one.  This site tries to open one person’s life to those seeking understanding about  transgender issues.  It is also here as an encouragement and resource for those who are further along the path.

The numerous transgender sites on the internet have many variations.  However, one aspect is fairly universal...images!  Vanity can be a problem with those of us who are male to female! One joke in the transgender community is that we are never far from a camera or a mirror! Personal pictures are provided here for two basic reasons.

First, we are not abstractions; we are real people. Narratives and stories may resonate, but photos give a fuller measure of a reality that words cannot. My pictures are not for any prurient purpose. They reflect the range of my life’s activities such as being at my workplace, or at play, on vacation, or in a wedding.  I still occasionally pinch myself because I have been able to do so much and built wonderful memories. Therefore, my photographs serve an important function, but I have kept them rather limited in scope to allow more space for text.

Second, and more personally, I wanted to give a “face” to my name, both to humanize the discussion and for my web friends scattered around the world who wonder what I look like!

Being transgender is a fascinating process of discovery...and it is a most complex process!  There are the dual pressures of family and societal expectations usually making it even more daunting.  Among the many reasons for this site, one special goal is to help others seeking truth and the grace of God in their gender differences . There is amazing power available from the Creator to transform a cramped and suffocated inner life to one of abundance and real outward living.  One component of my personal story contains hard earned insights on the way that one’s  faith may be lived as a transgender person.

My main attempt to describe the process of transition into a woman is in a series of short articles titled, “Out of the Box”.  These were first published in the web-based Grace and Lace Newsletter. They are very subjective, and frankly, autobiographical.   They reveal what I have found to be common experiences for the male-to-female transgender person. Those who are female-to-male may not find as much common thread, but the emotional impact of the journey may resonate.

This is not an easy subject. Some links are provided to other helpful sites I have found (and may or may not be in service at this time). No links are intended to point to sites containing what I would describe as voyeuristic or explicit material.  Many have helped me enormously. Some are for services in the Washington, DC region where I live and work, while others are information rich sources.

On a very personal note, if you are visiting here in search for concrete answers, you know only too well that gender issues are complex and difficult to navigate. We can lose sight of the deeper truths that bring satisfaction to our souls...being loved and accepted for who we are. We may not be fully aware without opening our hearts with candor and thirst for the truth, that what we need is relationship with a Person, not a religion, philosophy, creed or lifestyle; that we long for rescue from isolation in our souls; that we need to accept both our frailties and our strengths with honesty; that our innermost being yearns to experience mercy, understanding and love.  As you consider my unique story, I do recommend that you examine carefully the person of Jesus Christ.  He is the revolutionary life-transformer, the One who created and shaped each of us as precious and unique individuals. Every person has deep spiritual needs that may only be filled by this wellspring of all life.

Luckily this is not difficult."
